Monthsary Reflection on Binkan Manila 23112022, a month after.

It was an unbelievable journey I had taken in the autumn of 2022. In a way, I felt that it was my mum in heaven, wanting me to make this journey to shed the pale shadow of my former self which I had been miring in and to rediscover the joy of being me, the spontaneous, creative and adventurous good old me.

Going for Park Eun Bin Binkan Note Asia Tour Fan Meeting from Manila to Singapore and now she is coming to Malaysia, has been such a revelation. Memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.

While I had been actively promoting Binkan KL for the past week, today, I was all quiet about it because I wanted to relish the memories I had from Binkan Manila. It was a journey of my many firsts. My first fan meet, first trip to Manila, first time travelling with strangers to foreign land and staying in the same hotel room.

Picture: The three ladies of MY Bingos in Manila. We had another lady with us. She was a super duper fan. She arrived from KL just before the fan meet and left the same day, immediately right after. We didn't have time to take pictures together.

First time meeting bunny queen Eun Bin, first time having a Hi-Bye session with her. To be honest, our mission was, since Malaysia wasn't in the list of her Asia Tour, since she couldn't come to us, to go to her and let her know that she has a fan club here in Malaysia.

There were many fans in our group who couldn't make the overseas trips, ,so, we wanted to bring to her attention that we would love to have her in Malaysia, being the friendly hospitable Malaysians we were. At every opportunity, we showed our A4 signboard with our fan club logo and MALAYSIA.

To our surprise, fellow Filo Bingos were so supportive of us, we were so timid and were like little mice. They pushed us to the front to get the GMA station interviewed us, they helped us raise our signboards for Eun Bin to see and they made us felt so much warmth and happiness.

And from Manila, we got to know fans from Korea,Taiwan and Singapore. We got ourselves connected as some of us were planning to go to Binkan TH and SG as well. That was our personal journey in Manila. The fan meet itself, as I have said in my previous tweet, it was a puzzle. Every fan meeting is a puzzle with Eun Bin revealing different aspect of herself at each stop. We attend the fan meetings in different countries to collect the puzzles that will make a complete her..

The fan meeting in Manila was a love affair, a love meeting between Eun Bin and her Asian fans. It was a healing event. An electrifying, explosive, healing session right from the moment it started till it ended. I' had never felt so loved and appreciated and if I could feel it, so could everyone else including Eun Bin. The passion and exuberance demonstrated by the fans were just unbelievable.

When she cried, after watching the fan video, many of us cried. The words were taken right from our hearts and to see our feelings being so expressively well articulated were just beyond what our emotions could contain. I would never ever forget that moment.

Binkan Manila will forever be entrenched in the deepest of my heart. And because it was also the first destination for Eun Bin in her Asia Tour, I was truly glad that she had such an emotionally filled experience. And it was very obvious that night that she had let her hair down.

Seeing her being so BFF with Kring Kim, so natural, so comfortable, so friendly and unpretentious, she truly was herself that night. I was extremely glad I had made the impromptu decision to go to Manila. I was thinking of going only to Binkan SG. As much as Eun Bin is filling her Binkan with her fan meetings, we are also filling our binkan with memorable experiences from various stops.

Rewatching videos of Binkan Manila never fails to put a smile on my face.

The high feeling of Binkan Manila lasted till my journey back to Malaysia. For a week after that, I was still glued onto my phone. Abigail said I was suffering from PFMD. Post Fan Meeting Depression. It took tremendous amount of effort to finally get Binkan Manila out of my mind.

I believed that one just needed to attend Eun Bin's fan meeting once, and then to realise that you needed to see her again. Once just wasn't enough. I was extremely lucky that I got to see her again in Binkan SG which I will save the opportunity to tell my tale another time.

Binkan KL, might be the last, the second last fan meeting, I don't know. It was the rarest of all opportunities that Eun Bin's making her way to Binkan KL. I think I must've saved a country in my previous life to be able to see her for the third time. There might not be any more fan meetings.

All I know is that we have to make Binkan KL an unforgettable one for Eun Bin and for ourselves. So, let's bring the house down. Let's fill the place with Christmas cheer and spirit and our love for Eun Bin. She had sacrificed her Christmas family time for us and so had we.

So, let's make Binkan KL our Bingo family Christmas Eve Fan Meeting Party!!!!!

This was what happened when you have a theatreful of intoxicated bingos cheering for someone they loved. Yes, love can make one drunk.

And by grace of God, we were in the Manila GMA news channel.

1st Kota Kemuning Boys Brigade recruitment drive on Facebook @2022 (Part 3)

A heartfelt gratitude to parents of Kota Kemuning who have placed faith in our 1st Kota Kemuning Boys Brigade by enrolling their children for our weekly Boys Brigade activities.

The two years of Covid had significantly reduced the size of our Brigade as we could not actively recruit new members and many of our seniors had left for further studies.
Nevertheless, with the support of parents, we are able to stand tall again with many junior and senior members and they are all looking forward for camping trips and other educational programmes in the next coming months. In fact, we had just had our Enrollment and Award night recently. It has been more than two years since we last held such an event.
We are now having a recruitment drive to prepare the new members for boot camps early next year.
Kindly contact our officer, Sir Gan at 012-6631207 as soon as possible so that your child will not miss the enrollment deadline.
Parents, you won't go wrong with Boys Brigade.
1st Kota Kemuning Boys Brigade

1st Kota Kemuning Boys Brigade recruitment drive on Facebook @2022 (Part 1)

Boys Brigade Kota Kemuning are looking to recruit some new members for 2023. As a parent of two Boys who have been members for ten years, here's my testimony.
Kawad kaki.
Yes, marching, drilling whatever the name is.
That's part and parcel of any uniformed societies be it the Boys Brigade, St John Ambulance, Kadet Polis, PBSM, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides etc.
One of the reasons why I chose Boys Brigade for my boys when they were only around 8-9 years old was because I preferred to have a uniformed body that they could be involved in from their early formative years right till young adults. It takes time and community involvement to raise a child. I wanted them to have a longer period to continue aiming and achieving the various milestones in Boys Brigade. So, age 8 till 17 and beyond, I have figured, is a good runway for them to prepare their flight towards Independence and adulthood.
At primary level, Brigadiers are called Juniors. There are a few milestones for them to achieve, namely the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. There are also junior leadership camps and company camps they get to participate. At this level, Juniors are taught marching, cooking, sewing and other basic skills. The awards and camps are important as they serve the foundation to let the Juniors be more prepared as they experience the transition from junior to senior level.
At senior level, first major milestone to aim for will be the boot camp. The level of responsibility at the camp is ...... Challenging.
Brigadiers will definitely learn to be more responsible. How and why, I shall not be too explicit with the details but the training is enough to let the parents feedback to the officers that my child has changed.
From boot camp, there is a proper path progression for the Brigadiers to improve themselves on many fronts. So many badges and awards to aim for and achieve. There are also the camps eg the BNTS, ANTS, PESTA etc.
What are BNTS and ANTS, one might wonder? These are abbreviations for Basic NCO Training School and Advance NCO Training School. These camps prepare the Brigadiers to be NCOs ie. ranks in the Boys Brigade.
We all have heard of Lance Corporal, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain etc so I will not dwell too much into that.
So, again the question of why Boys Brigade, why 1st Kota Kemuning Boys Brigade? We are a small company compared to many other companies in Selangor. When the company is small, due to the limitation of the number of participants for camps for each different companies, Brigadiers in 1st KK have a better chance to participate in many state and national level camps and activities.
I speak from the experience my boys have gone through. Later, I will include some pictures of the camps they have been to, both in Malaysia and international camps.
My eldest, other than being in Boys Brigade, he was also involved in St John Ambulance in school. So, you can have double participation. Some parents might wonder if participation in Boys Brigade count towards participation in uniformed societies for school co-curricular activities. During my son's time, about three years back, yes, it is counted. As for any latest development, you can ask the school authorities for confirmation.
Parents, like minded parents. You won't go wrong with Boys Brigade. Head to BB meeting today.
