Hello Everyone, as i have difficulties posting Mrs Chee's letter on facebook due to the pictures in the letter, I thought the next easier way will be to post it on my blog for easy access. I am sorry i am not able to post the pictures here as they weren't in JPEG format but will get them from Mrs Chee ASAP. Please help the school by supporting the choir performance. Mrs' Chee's letter has said much for itself.....

Dear Fellow Canossians, Friends and Supporters,

Just when you thought you were free of fund raising letters from me, I'm back.

This time round I am pleased to inform you that a group of very concerned citizens have volunteered to help us raise funds for our beloved school. They will be bringing in THE LISBON CHAMBER CHOIR, a world class choir all the way from Lisbon, Portugal to perform in Malacca.
All costs (transportaion, food & lodging and other expenses) will be sponsored by them (God bless them!) . They do not have children in our school, neither were they ex-students of our school.

My teachers, students and I are truly grateful for their generosity.

The LISBON CHAMBER CHOIR will be performing on :

Time : 7.30 pm

We are also very grateful to the Pastor of Calvary for allowing us to use their auditorium which has a seating capacity of 1000 seats ,free of charge. We are truly, truly blessed!

Last year your generous donation amounting to RM110,000-00, helped us to repair the roofs of Sisters’ Quarters and the Chapel. It was leaking very badly and the dampness resulted in termite infestation. The entire roof was replaced with the original Marseille tiles, costing about RM55,000-00.

Another RM 15,000-00 has been spent on the renovation of the windows in the school hall while RM5,000-00 was spent on the retiling of the floor of the Form 1 toilets (3^rd Floor) which was leaking very badly causing the steel rods of the beams in the Form 2 toilets ( 2^nd storey) to be exposed. The estimated cost of reinforcing the beam is RM 13,000-00.

A simple addition will tell you that we have very little money left.

From the Lisbon Chamber Choir performance, we hope to raise RM 75,000-00 which will be used to build a new canteen walkway. As you can see from the pictures below, the present state of the walkway is not at all user friendly, the iron supports are rusting and the roof has been blown away a few times during the thunderstorms.

Once again, I would like to appeal to your kind generosity to help make the Lisbon Chamber Choir performance a success. The tickets are priced at RM 200-00, RM 100-00 and RM 50-00 per ticket. If you are unable to attend, then sponsor a student to attend as we have many who are will never be able to have this opportunity to witness a world class choir performing.
